Testimonials
Winning a Scottish Event Award really does count and the below testimonials echo that. Have a look at what proud past winners have to say:
“These awards are further testament to the SECC’s ability to host and deliver truly world class events, and to the fact that we now compete on a global stage for both national and international business, which in turn brings enormous economic benefit, not just to Glasgow, but to the whole of Scotland. Furthermore, this major vote of confidence is hugely important to everyone working at the SECC when we are doing our very best to deliver superb events for our clients”.
Ben Goedegebuure - SECC
"We are absolutely delighted to have won two awards at this year's Scottish Event Awards. Getting nominated for Best Leisure Sports Event was an honour in itself, but to win that and then take the Event Management Grand Prix award home as well was absolutely fantastic. The event is a huge operation, as it crosses the country from Glasgow to Edinburgh and attracts huge numbers, so winning these awards makes the hard work and year round planning and organisation of the event all the more worthwhile. We owe a big thank you to the 5 local authorities along the route, the police and emergency services, the hundreds of volunteers and support staff, the two event delivery agencies Pennine Events and Perfect Motion, and the thousands of cyclists for helping us make the event the great day out that it is. I'm pleased to say that the 2009 event took place this weekend, as freshnlo Pedal for Scotland, and we attracted 23% more participants to make a total of 7000 riders. We had great weather and the event went safely and smoothly, so all in all this has been a really great weekend for cycling! I think the Scottish Event Awards play a vital role in highlighting the quality of events staged in Scotland, and it's great for all the people involved to get recognition for the hours and hours of behind the scenes work that go into staging successful events."
Cycling Scotland Chief Executive Ian Aitken
“Cameron Presentations were proud to be a sponsor at the Scottish Event Awards 2009, and we were also pleased to have been given the opportunity to design the content production and supply all the Audio Visual requirements on the night. This is such an important show for the Scottish Events Industry, and we look forward to the continued growth of this event. And on an additional note the team at Carnyx were a joy to work with, making our job much easier"
Tasha McKenzie, Cameron Presentations
“Winning the Best Cause Related Award at the Scottish Events Awards on Friday night was an honour. The Capgemini Black and White Ball in support of The Prince’s Trust was a first in so many ways and now we can add this prestigious award to our credentials! We had a wonderful night and the organisers made it so special for all of us. Thank you to all who supported us and here’s to next year!”
Amy Sieweke, Founder of The Capgemini Black and White Ball
"To have been involved in the Scottish Event Awards has been inspiring for us - to see the calibre and the imagination of the events which are being created in Scotland is really terrific, and it is excellent that there is such a great showcase for the event management industry through this initiative. Haddington Pipe Band is a small community organisation run entirely by volunteers, so to win an award in the company of the real professionals has been utterly thrilling. For us, it is recognition of a fantastic effort by a small group of people who, in their own time, created and managed an event out of sheer love of what they do. It will, without doubt, not only bring a sense of pride to our community but will also reinforce the band's desire to play a positive role within that community."
Band's Chairman, John McMillan
“The Scottish Event Awards are a celebration of everything that is great about the Scottish events industry. It’s fantastic to be recognised among our competitors, peers and colleagues for the effort we put into these events. We’ll definitely be back next year!”
Fran McIntyre - QD Events
"Sponsorship for Tapestry AV was an excellent opportunity to increase brand awareness and of course give a little something back to the events industry & our clients. We definitely want to sponsor again."
Lynsey McLaren - Tapestry AV
“Winning the Best Cultural Event category at the Scottish Event Awards 2010 was a great boost for all the team that develops and delivers the Edinburgh International Science Festival. We were the first public science festival in the world and 22 years still aim to be a leading one. We believe we add great cultural richness to the Edinburgh and Scottish event calendar and it is encouraging to be recognized as doing so.”
Fiona Logue - Edinburgh International Science Festival
"Cycling Scotland was absolutely bowled over to have won four awards at this year's ceremony, particularly since two categories we have now won two years running. We were over the moon, and would like to thank the judges for recognising the hard work of our large event delivery team who work tirelessly to make the event a success. Receiving the Event Management Grand Prix for the second time was a particular honour, and is probably the highlight of my career so far in terms of acheivements. The fact that ceremony was in such a magnificent venue and had such a great atmosphere made the evening one to remember for years to come, so thanks for having us."
